Google Presentation
September 28th, 2007 junellePresentations — all new! We’re pleased to announce that you can now create and share presentations with Google Docs — the application in Google Apps formerly known as Docs & Spreadsheets.
With this feature, you can create a new set of slides from scratch or import existing presentations and share and collaborate on them in real time. You can even drive a presentation remotely while colleagues or clients look on from their own computers.
Curious about how it all works? Check out this short video, Google Docs in Plain English. You can also take the Google Docs Tour.
If you’d like to give it a try, simply sign in to Google Docs at http://docs.google.com/a/intiendes.com. (This link won’t work if you haven’t activated Google Docs for your domain). We’re already working on new features for presentations, and we look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Spreadsheet feature updates
Our engineers have been working hard to make the spreadsheets feature more useful and robust. You now have more ways to pull in data from other sources, including a variety of file types and syndicated feeds. And we’ve added AutoFill, which can help reduce repetitive entry into your sheets by automatically filling in the blanks for common series, like numbers and dates (for a Google twist, AutoFill also lets you use Google Sets to create new sets from a few examples).
Stay tuned for even more improvements to spreadsheets.
New reporting feature
Have you ever wanted to see detailed stats on the usage of Google Apps by your organization? Well, now you can! We recently launched the Reporting API to Google Apps Premier, Education, and Partner Editions. This API allows you to download reports about your domain to track a variety of metrics, including account activity, disk space, email client usage, and more. For more details, read the API documentation here and feel free to share your thoughts on the Apps APIs Google Group.

Beyond Apps
Some of you may recognize the phrase “Search, Ads, and Apps” from a speech Google CEO Eric Schmidt delivered back in May of this year. Given that Apps is only one part of the story, we thought we’d let you know what’s going on at Google in the “Ads” area, and point out a couple of programs that might benefit your organization.
AdWords
No matter what size business you run, you can display your ads on Google and our advertising network. Your ads appear to potential customers at the right time, in the right place, with the right message—just as they’re searching on Google for the kinds of services and products you offer. Learn more.
AdSense
If you’re thinking of how to monetize your web site and add value to your users, AdSense for Search (AFS) could be what you’re looking for. AFS not only provides your site with a free web search and site search solution, but also helps you earn revenue by serving relevant ads alongside the search results. Visit the AdSense homepage.
